Delete them all, and build something that will let you gain something useful. Sometimes attackers reduce or stop attacking if you cause enough damage to their defenders, and while the watchfires themselves don't increase your defenses attack, they do. If you are at the bottom it won't stop the top from attacking, but having watchfires can act as a deterrent to lazy attackers. So why the hell would I delete a shrine to place two ritual flames and increase my defence am insufficient amount to be meaningful? I would have to sacrifice roughly 500 FPs PER DAY in order to protect 5 FP PER MONTH. Watchfires do stack and can keep people out. A single Shrine of Knowledge produces 60 FPs in a month. I personally get plundered for maybe 10 FPs every two months. On average, even if you get attacked, it's usually for points, and in the odd chance you get plundered, they don't take much. You'd need an absurd amount of defence to stop these people. Those who will attack you WILL break through in most cases, because they are top of the hood and have the attack to do so. I did the math a while ago to justify it to somebody. From an efficiency standpoint, you're better off collecting on time and using that space for something better.
